This Saturday, we celebrate International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to promoting gender equality and the vision of a world free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. To honor this significant occasion, Menzies Aviation Macau has invited the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) of the Macao Special Administrative Region to lead a seminar on “The Development of Women Empowering and Gender Mainstreaming” for our team. Our Managing Director, Ms. Anabela Barros, opened the seminar by expressing her gratitude to Ms. Stephanie Mio from IAS and highlighted Menzies Aviation’s unwavering commitment to gender equity. She also shared a heartfelt story about the support she received from the management when she first became a mother.

The seminar provided an in-depth look at the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by all United Nations member states, focusing on how the Macao government is working towards these objectives. It also delved into the history of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a comprehensive plan established in 1995 to advance the rights of women and girls. The concept of “Gender Mainstreaming” was thoroughly explored as a strategy to integrate women’s and men’s concerns into all policies and programs, ensuring equal benefits and preventing the perpetuation of inequality. The event concluded with an interactive game and gifts for the audience. Ms. Stephanie Mio expressed her excitement about the seminar, praising Menzies Aviation Macau for its dedication to equity and inclusion, and looked forward to future collaborations on various topics.
